Daniel + Laura Wedding | Shelbyville, TN | Southern Daisy Photography

Nashville, TN Wedding Photographer | I had the pleasure of shooting my first wedding last month, and it certainly was a fun event!  The bride and groom chose a movie theme for their nuptials at The Fly Art Center in Shelbyville, TN , and they didn’t leave out any details!  From the bouquets and boutonnieres to the earrings and cakes, everything was movie themed!  The flower girls even dropped red ticket stubs instead of flower pedals on their way down the aisle.  Daniel and Laura were such a fun couple to work with, and they were seriously up for anything!  Thank you, both, for allowing Steve and me to capture such an important day in your life!  I hope you enjoy the photos.

It was raining during the entire wedding, so we weren’t sure if we’d be able to take any outdoor pictures.  But after a fun picture in the theater room, we saw that it had briefly stopped raining, so we headed outside for some group shots.

Wedding Song

I know it’s been almost two years since our wedding, but I just remembered that I never shared the song I recorded for the sand pouring during our ceremony.  It’s nothing fancy, just something I recorded on Garage Band on my iMac, but it added a personal touch to our ceremony.  I thought about singing it live, but I knew I’d never be able to get through it without crying.

Unfortunately, when we got done pouring our sand and headed back under the arch to gaze lovingly into each others eyes for the remainder of the song the DJ abruptly stopped the song!  Didn’t even fade it out or anything.  We had barely even gotten through half of the song, so all my hard work of recording and rerecording about 100 times went to waste.  I did put the song on CD for my parents, in laws, and a few other family members, but other than that, it hasn’t been heard.  And I think it’s about time that was rectified!

So without further ado, I give you a slideshow of our wedding set to my rendition of Shania Twain’s “From This Moment.”  (I’m singing both parts.)

Our Wedding Day: Part 3

Can you believe that I just now realized that I never finished posting about Steve’s and my wedding day!?  Tragic, I know!  So far all you’ve seen is up to the point where we were getting ready in our separate rooms.  How this escaped me, I don’t know.  I guess I can just chalk it up to pregnancy brain, which has been going strong for 6 months.

So back to our wedding day….Steve and I chose to see each other before the ceremony and take most of our pictures before hand.  That way our guests wouldn’t have to wait over an hour after the ceremony to eat dinner.  I’m so glad we decided to do it this way, and some of our best pictures are when we saw each other for the first time.

Here’s Steve waiting to see me, his bride, for the first time.

Isn’t he handsome!?

My sister-in-law, Stacey (who was also my photographer), led me to the spot where Steve would see me for the first time.

Once Steve knew I was behind him, he got super excited.  Ahh the suspense!!

Then Stacey gave him the OK to turn around and see me for the first time in my wedding dress.

Loved his reaction!!

Then he took time to admire my dress….

…and my hair (which only stayed curly like this for about half an hour…darn humidity!).

This is my “Yay!  He thinks I look beautiful!” face.

Then we took some Bride and Groom pictures.

Yay!!  Look at us!  We’re getting married!!!!

Next pictures are of our crazy bridal party.  Hopefully I’ll remember to post these next ones in a timely manner!
