My Maternity Photos – Oliver

As a photographer, I’m used to always being behind the camera.  Most of the photos of Grayson and me are selfies taken with my iPhone.  So I was extremely happy that one of my friends was willing to take some maternity pictures for me to document my pregnancy with our second son, Oliver.  We used my camera so I could easily take the memory card home and edit the pictures myself.  Grayson cooperated for some of the photos, but he was more interested in walking through the crunchy leaves.  Still, I’m glad I have a few photos of him and me together while I’m pregnant with his little brother.  He still has no clue what’s going on, and the only interest he has in my large belly is poking my belly button.  Haha!

Unfortunately, Steve was not able to be in these photos because he has been working incredibly long hours getting our second retail store ready to open, but I’m hoping he’ll be able to take an hour or so off soon, so we can take a family photo for our Christmas cards.

The sun was just perfect, and the water on Old Hickory Lake was so calm it looked like glass.  I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful setting.

Sarah’s Maternity Session | Gallatin, TN

There’s not many things I love more than brand new babies, and shooting this maternity session means that a little precious bundle of joy will be arriving soon!  Sarah and Garrett chose to shoot their session at her parents’ ranch in Gallatin, TN, which made for a beautiful backdrop with the barn, trees, and beautiful flowers it had to offer.  Sarah is due with her first child only 7 weeks before me, which also made this session a bit more special.  I hope our boys will grow up to be great friends!

Our Family is Growing!

It’s true!  I’m almost 12 weeks pregnant with our second child!  This pregnancy has not been an easy one.  I actually ended up in the hospital yesterday from dehydration.  6 hours and 2 bags of IV fluids later, I was feeling much better, and was able to keep down my dinner.  The reason it took so long is because my veins were so flat from being dehydrated that the fluids had trouble flowing through my IV.  (Well, that and the fact that I had to wait 2 hours in the waiting room for a bed to open up.)  I was put on a new medication and will hopefully turn a corner soon.

This baby is due January 21st, and we’ve already had our first doctor’s appointment and seen our little peanut via ultrasound.  At first I was positive this baby would be another boy, but since I’ve been SO sick this time around (much more than I was with Grayson), now I’m wondering if this one is a girl.  I guess only time will tell!

Here’s a couple pictures of our little munchkin.

We’re going to try to find out the gender around 15 weeks via elective ultrasound.  But if we can’t tell then, we’ll have to wait until our anatomy scan at 20 weeks.  If you could spare some prayers, please pray that I will have some relief from this morning (all day) sickness soon!
